In this capitalist world we live in, almost everything is owned by somebody else, and we endure artificially created scarcity. Even things that can be endlessly copied are hampered by arcane copyright laws and legal codes that literally prevent the free exchange of ideas, something that free market weirdos claim to support. As somebody who wants to live in quite a different world, I believe that the first step to getting there is living by a different set of values. For this reason, nearly everything on this website is either already in the commons or immediately entered into the commons. You can copy, share, modify, distort, destroy, and enhance every word or image that has been created by me that you see here. The only exception to this rule is the covers of books, albums, or film posters - not created by me - that are used for editorial purposes. As the early Christians used to say, omnia sunt communia. Everything is the commons. I intend to live up to that value with everything that I create.
To put a bit more specificity on what I mean, all original content on this website is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. That means that you are free to do basically everything with my work except for try and copyright it yourself, or somehow take it out of the commons. You are technically supposed to attribute the works to me before you change them, but I don't really care that much for credit. For more details, you are welcome to check out the license here:

By the way - The gift you see above is the Gift Flat Icon GIF Animation.gif from Wikimedia Commons by Videoplasty.com, CC-BY-SA 4.0. This is how you do an attribution for something in the commons, in case you want to do so!
